Lafayette, Ind. – IU Health Arnett Hospital will open a new unit in November, allowing the hospital to care for more patients.
The 14-bed Clinical Observation Unit, which has been constructed adjacent to the hospital’s Emergency department, is designed especially for patients requiring shorter stays in the hospital, generally less than 72 hours.
“We are proud to be part of a thriving community that continues to attract more residents and new and expanding industry,” says Art Vasquez, president of the IU Health West Central Region, which includes Arnett, Frankfort and White Memorial hospitals.
“As our community continues to grow, so does our patient volume, and this new unit will allow us to care for more patients in a new way so that we can continue to provide the high-quality care our community deserves.”
Construction on the new space began in fall 2022 and is opening several months ahead of schedule.
