IU Health Foundation receives $500,000 Gift to support team member wellness

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana University Health Foundation has received a $500,000 gift from the HNI Charitable Foundation for the new IU Health downtown Indianapolis hospital. The HNI Charitable Foundation is the philanthropic arm of HNI Corporation and Kimball International, Inc., a leader in workplace and health furnishings.

The gift will support wellness, respite and workplace experience initiatives for physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, therapists and other IU Health team members. The goal is to enhance the physical space and experience for healthcare professionals, creating a place for collaboration and restoration.

“We are grateful for the HNI Charitable Foundation’s generous support,” said Liz Linden, chief operating officer of IU Health Methodist and University hospitals. “Healthcare workers often put others’ needs ahead of their own, even while carrying the physical and emotional burdens of their work. In such a demanding environment, this gift is more than a gesture — it’s an investment in their well-being, giving our teams easier access to the spaces and tools they need to recharge, reflect, and feel truly supported.”

The donation will fund initiatives such as a named clinical area team member lounge at the new IU Health downtown Indianapolis hospital.
