IU Health Foundation’s Kate Kiser Receives International Industry Honor

October 05, 2021

Kate Kiser, director of Development Operations for Indiana University Health Foundation (IUHF) has earned the honor of being named to the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) 2021 40 Under 40 list. Kiser is being recognized for her ability to operationalize workflows and policies; integrate and manage data; and recruit and lead teams – factors being attributed to the Foundation’s early success.

The AHP 40 Under 40 recognition program celebrates future leaders within the healthcare philanthropy community. AHP is honoring these young professionals because they are shaping the future of the healthcare development industry.

Designing, collecting and analyzing data in meaningful ways requires not only technical excellence but also the ability to leverage strategic insights to drive operational decision-making’” says Crystal Hinson Miller, MA, FAHP, CFRE, president of IU Health Foundation and senior vice president for IU Health. “Kate’s ability to unpack and translate data, combined with her commitment to collaboration with colleagues for best practice data applications in fundraising, has contributed greatly to our success.”

IU Health Foundation formed in late 2017 as an anchor statewide Foundation. This followed three years of consolidation planning for the centralization of 15 hospital foundations and giving programs throughout Indiana. Kiser led multiple projects that contributed to a successful integration, helping IUHF to exceed its fundraising goals and generating greater impact toward IU Health’s mission for a healthier Indiana.

Kiser has devoted her life to advancing philanthropy and community service. At IU Health, she serves on two affinity groups: one focused on helping parents of newborns and another on women’s leadership. In the community, Kiser serves on the board of directors of the Indiana Diaper Bank and volunteers with Mission Motherhood’s “Just Between Mothers” program.

Kate Kiser earned her BA in Anthropology from Beloit College and attributes her education as an enabler to building strong and meaningful relationships.
