INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana University Health has welcomed Rev. Rodney Francis as executive director of workforce development. Effective this week, Rodney will lead the systemwide workforce development strategy which includes directing the Mosaic Center for Work, Life + Learning.
Established in 2021, the Mosaic Center is a community-based unit within IU Health. The Mosaic Center is headquartered in Indianapolis and serves individuals throughout Marion County, working to attract talent to the healthcare industry and improve access to good and promising jobs.
“We’re thrilled to have Rev. Francis lead the important work of developing a robust workforce pipeline to both support the organization’s evolving needs and also help more Marion County residents prepare for and obtain meaningful careers in healthcare,” said Adrienne Sims, Psy.D., senior vice president and chief human resources officer, IU Health. “Rodney is joining at a critical time as the Mosaic Center prepares to move into its permanent home that will allow for additional programming and activities to further engage and empower our team members and our community.”
The Mosaic Center is currently located at 16 Tech in downtown Indianapolis and will relocate to the Near North neighborhood as part of a growing health district in Indianapolis. Information about its relocation and programming updates will be available in the coming months.
Rodney has more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in workforce development and community-based nonprofit organizations, along with significant senior pastoral leadership experience. Before joining IU Health, he served as the executive vice president of Workforce Solutions at EmployIndy, focusing on shaping strategies and services that enhance workforce readiness. He actively contributes to workforce and community development through his service as a board member of the National Youth Employment Coalition in Washington, D.C., membership in the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, and participation in the Marion County Youth Violence Prevention Committee.
Rodney earned his master’s degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey, and his bachelor’s degree from the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York. He completed executive programs at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio; Focus Leadership St. Louis; and the Olin Business School’s Nonprofit Executive Management Program at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
