IU Health West Hospital Ranked Among State’s Best Hospitals

Indiana University Health West Hospital is once again recognized among the top 10 hospitals in all of Indiana, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2018-19 “Best Hospitals” rankings.

IU Health West Hospital, part of the Indiana University Health system, ranks No. 3 overall in the state of Indiana and No. 2 overall in the Indianapolis metro area. According to the U.S. News rankings, IU Health Medical Center is the No. 1 ranked hospital in Indiana and Indianapolis, and is the only nationally ranked adult hospital in the state. 

“We’re honored to be recognized as a top hospital in Indiana,” says Art Vasquez, president of the IU Health West Suburban Area, which includes responsibility for IU Health West Hospital. “These rankings speak to our team’s strong commitment to delivering the best care possible to every patient who steps inside our doors.” 

IU Health West Hospital received high performance ratings in three adult specialties: Geriatrics, Nephrology and Pulmonology. Additionally, IU Health West Hospital received high performance ratings in two adult conditions: COPD and heart failure.

The annual Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 29th year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.
