Jesse L. Moore has joined the board of the West Central Region of Indiana University Health which includes the IU Health Arnett Physicians Group, IU Health Arnett, IU Health Frankfort and IU Health White Memorial hospitals.
Moore was the first Director of Supplier Diversity at Purdue University, for thirteen years before retiring in 2018. His charge was to identify opportunities that resulted in the university’s vendor/supplier base being more reflective of the business demographics of the state. His vision was to elevate Purdue University to a national leader in supplier diversity in higher education. His achievement was increasing the university’s diversity spending by more than 300 percent.
“Jesse brings a wealth of experience and valued expertise to the West Central Region board, including a focused expertise in institutional diversity and inclusion,” said Art Vasquez, president of IU Health Arnett Hospital and the West Central Region of IU Health.
Moore brings to the board his many years’ experience in economic development, diverse business advocacy, strategic planning, community involvement and public policy. He has demonstrated leadership and administrative abilities in business, non-profit and government environments. He is thoroughly familiar with community resources and has a stellar reputation with institutional and community leaders.
“It is an honor to be associated with the West Central Region of Indiana University Health. I’m looking forward to adding my voice to those who have shown a love and commitment to this community,” states Moore.
Moore is a graduate of Martin University with a degree in Business Administration. He has resided in West Lafayette for 15 years. Through the years, Moore has served on numerous non- profit boards in the Greater Lafayette Community, including the United Way of Greater Lafayette, the Lafayette Mayor’s Commission on African American Affairs and the Hanna Community Council of Lafayette. In 2017, Moore, who has a long history of championing diversity and meritorious service, received the Sagamore of the Wabash, one of Indiana’s highest honors.
Moore began his three year commitment on June 2. The constant pursuit of excellence through leading-edge medicine and scientific innovation at IU Health is guided by the executive leadership and board of directors.
