IU Health Arnett earns Gold Seal reaccreditation from Joint Commission

June 24, 2026

Lafayette, Ind. – Indiana University Health Arnett has again received The Gold Seal of Approval® from Joint Commission, recognizing the hospital's commitment to providing the safest and most reliable patient care.

Gold Seal accreditation is internationally recognized as the gold standard in hospital accreditation.

Arnett underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review in May 2026, during which a team of Joint Commission surveyors assessed compliance across key areas such as emergency management, infection prevention, patient safety and hospital leadership. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews to identify performance strengths and opportunities for continued improvement.

Joint Commission standards are developed with input from healthcare professionals, providers, subject matter experts, patients and government agencies. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations assess and improve performance.

The hospital has been continuously accredited since it opened in October 2008.

"We are proud to maintain our Gold Seal accreditation from Joint Commission, which reflects our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to our community," says James Emerson, MD, IU Health Arnett chief medical officer. "This reaccreditation recognizes the dedication of our teams and reinforces our promise to deliver care that meets the highest standards our patients expect and deserve."

This accreditation is valid until May 2029.
