IU Health Arnett Hospital receives recognition for lifesaving cardiopulmonary resuscitation practices

In recognition of its commitment to practicing evidence-based care for patients in need of resuscitation, IU Health Arnett Hospital has received a Get With the Guidelines® – Resuscitation Bronze award for the adult age group from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Resuscitation is the act of restarting a person’s heart or breathing rhythms when they have stopped. It is an essential tool in responding to medical emergencies, such as cardiac arrest, and it saves lives.

The Get With The Guidelines – Resuscitation program centers around quality improvement by collecting data from over 300 hospitals across the country tracking the variability of practice that impacts survival outcomes for patients who suffer cardiac arrest.

Accreditation within the program signifies the IU Health Arnett care team’s dedication to continual improvement and growth as best practices and evidence-based treatments evolve over time.

The Get With the Guidelines – Resuscitation Bronze award demonstrates a commitment to meeting accreditation guidelines and tracking cardiac arrest data in AHA’s registry.

Hospitals that receive this award remain consistent in meeting criteria for over one calendar year with over 30 patients.
