4.7 out of 5 stars (661 ratings)

The CDC, Indiana State Health Department and IU Health continue to recommend that Hoosiers, 65 and older, and those with a known high-risk medical condition should limit exposure at work and in their communities. According to the CDC, the following conditions are considered at high risk, particularly if they are not well controlled:

  • Chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
  • Serious heart conditions
  • Immunocompromised individuals
    • Many conditions can cause a person to be immunocompromised including cancer treatment, smoking, bone marrow or organ transplantation, immune deficiencies, HIV or AIDS and prolonged use of corticosteroids and other immune weakening medications
  • Severe obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 40 or higher)
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Liver disease

Pool Only: We will start with pool-based activities only and continue to do land classes online using Zoom.

Limited Class Size: We will limit the number of people in each class to allow for social distancing in the pool and locker room. We will use Sign Up Genius to sign up for spots ahead of time.

Limited Open Pool: Participants will sign up for open pool times ahead of time. Each time will be limited to one hour and staggered every 30 minutes to decrease congestion in the locker room.

SignUpGenius: A link will be sent out each week to allow clients to sign up for a class or open pool time. We will start by allowing 2 sign ups per week per person. This may be limited to 1 sign up per person if there is high demand before we can increase the number of spots available. If you are unable to use SignUpGenius, you may call the clinic at 765.751.2555 and ask to be signed up for an open time.

Masks: Per IU Health policy, everyone is required to wear a surgical mask while in the building except when showering. A medical-grade mask will be provided. Non-medical grade masks will not be allowed at this time.

Social Distancing in the Locker Rooms: Our locker rooms will allow for 3-4 people at a time maintaining 6 feet between each person. Please consider how you can decrease the amount of time you will need to spend in the locker rooms. In order to meet social distancing guidelines, there will be two group options for each class, one group coming in 30 minutes before class and one group coming in 15 minutes before class. Please come at the time your group has been assigned. You will be dismissed in the same order, so everyone has a similar amount of time in the pool.

Equipment: Equipment will be cleaned between each use per Indiana State Health Department guidelines. A bin will be present to place equipment that needs to be sanitized and the staff will sanitize between each use.

Sign In: We will use SignUpGenius to take attendance. You will not need to sign in on the iPad when you come in.

Payment: We will continue to take payments as we have in the past. If you use a punch card, we can keep your punch cards at the front desk and punch them as you come in. This will reduce passing cards back and forth.

Canceling: If you are unable to come to your chosen time, please cancel through SignUpGenius, allowing someone else to sign-up for that time.
