CenteringPregnancy

The Family Medicine Residency Center at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital has partnered with CenteringPregnancy to provide a better way to get prenatal care through interactive learning, support from other expectant mothers and more time with your physician.

CenteringPregnancy provides group prenatal care for a small group of women due around the same time. Expectant moms will be scheduled for 10 group prenatal visits of 90 minutes each in addition to the initial prenatal exam and visit with their primary care physician. The CenteringPregnancy visits are a fun and interactive visit that empowers women to be more involved with their own health during their pregnancy. The group prenatal visits involve women completing health assessments, meeting with a physician for a personal interview apart from the group, an interactive discussion, and lots of time for developing great relationships with other expectant mothers that often endure well past the pregnancy.

We provide healthy snacks and child care at each session as we understand the demands of being a busy mom and the need for great prenatal care. The interactive discussions will cover everything from nutrition and exercise in pregnancy, common discomforts of pregnancy, stress management, preparing siblings for the new baby, labor and delivery, breastfeeding and infant care.

Members of the group often form lasting friendships and benefit one another through their common experience. We hope to have you join one of our CenteringPregnancy groups. Contact us today to schedule a new OB intake appointment.
