Visitor Information
We know that having family and friends with you is important to the healing process.
Many patients with cancer have immune systems that are not at full strength. We must take extra care to reduce their exposure to infection.
For that reason, there are more restrictions in the clinical areas of the cancer center.
When can guests visit?
Healthy adults may go with patients to their appointments and treatments. At times, we may limit the number of visitors in treatment areas.
Our goal is to ensure the comfort of other patients and the ability of staff to provide safe treatment. Please check with a guest relations representative if you have any questions.
Can children come?
Children younger than 18 years of age are not allowed in the infusion or radiation treatment areas. We welcome children in the waiting area of the cancer center*. They must be:
- accompanied by an adult other than the patient, and
- screened at the welcome desk
*Children are not allowed in the waiting room when flu restrictions are in place.
If someone is sick, can they visit?
You should not visit if you are sick, especially if you have a sore throat, cold or fever. This is to protect our patients.
