Hours are different for each unit, so please speak with your nurse or a guest relations representative for specific visiting hours on a unit. Please note that these may change based on a patient’s condition or scheduled tests. There may be special guidelines for coming or staying after 9 pm.
In general, it is a good idea to check with a guest relations team member before bringing a child visitor. Children younger than age 14 must be accompanied by an adult, other than the patient, at all times. Some units may require health screens or have other limitations on children visiting.
For your protection, people should not visit if they are sick, especially if they have a sore throat, cold or fever.
All IU Health facilities are smoke-free. For the safety of everyone, smoking is not allowed in any IU Health building or on the grounds.
All IU Health facilities are alcohol and drug-free.
It is the policy of Indiana University Health that no one, other than IU Health Security Officers or on-duty Law Enforcement Officers, carry or have in their possession a firearm or weapon while in a IU Health facility. Law enforcement officers should check in with IU Health Security if they plan to carry on premises.
Listening to our patients and their families helps us understand their experiences at IU Health White Memorial Hospital so we can serve them even better. We encourage patients and their families to take a moment to provide feedback and suggestions for how we could improve our service.
