Midwifery

The midwifery program at IU Health Obstetrics & Gynecology Bloomington is a team certified midwives and offers a full scope of services. Our certified midwives provide reproductive care through all stages of life: family planning services, annual exams, gynecologic problem exams, prenatal care, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

To request to be seen by a midwife, talk with your IU Health OB/GYN physician. Your past and current medical history will be evaluated by our team and will decide if midwifery care is the safest option for you.

IU Health accepts most insurance plans. We recommend that you verify your benefits and eligibility with your insurance company before your visit.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Prior to your appointment, please bring the following:

  • Insurance and identification card(s)
  • Bring a copy of relevant medical records
  • A list of current medications, including over-the-counter medicines and supplements

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete any outstanding paperwork.

Parking

IU Health Bloomington has free parking lots located near our main entrances.

Valet parking is also offered Monday – Friday: 8 am – 6 pm. Vehicles will not be accepted after 4:30 pm to allow time for keys to be returned and vehicles retrieved at the end of the night.
