From primary care and pediatric health appointments to specialized care, you can get the care you need from the comfort of your home.

IU Health offers a variety of virtual visits. These include regular, follow-up, pre and post-operation, triage visits, pre-visit information sessions, medication review and more.

Contact your provider or find a provider, and we will provide you care setting options based on your healthcare needs.

If you are eligible for virtual care with one of our highly skilled providers, an IU Health care team member will schedule your virtual visit and provide setup instructions.

Need Care Now? On-Demand Visits

When you’re sick or not feeling well, we’re there for you. IU Health offers Virtual Visits on-demand 24-hours a day, 7 days a week for patients 2 years and older. You can get the care you need now for common conditions such as:

  • Diarrhea, heartburn, nausea and vomiting
  • Cuts, scrapes, sprains, bruises, burns and insect bites
  • Hives, pink eye and rash
  • Infections, including bladder, yeast or urinary tract infection

Open the downloaded app on your phone, tablet or computer and you’ll be connected with a highly skilled provider. On-demand visits are available to anyone in Indiana (2 years and older).

IU Health On-Demand Virtual Visits makes taking care of you and your family easy with three simple steps:

  1. Download the free IU Health Virtual Visits app (Google Play or App Store) or enroll on your computer.
  2. Enroll by creating a free login and completing your personal profile.
  3. Connect with a highly skilled provider and get you and your family healthy and well.

Typically visits with our providers will last about 10 minutes. Our experts will review your history and answer questions. A few minutes later you’ll have a diagnosis and instructions for treatment.

Be sure to allow access to your camera and microphone if you are using the app. If you are connecting via desktop, be sure to test your computer settings.

    Self-pay visits are $59. If you choose to bill through your insurance, it may cost more, or it may cost less, depending on your specific plan.

    Sleep study physician and patient say the technology lends itself to certain kinds of medical appointments. House calls harken back to a simpler time -- when the small-town doctor would show up on the doorstep of a patient, black bag in hand. Today’s “house call” relies on technology, but it’s no less effective in some cases. Dr. Shalini Manchanda, director of the IU Health Sleep Disorders Center, is an early adaptor of IU Health’s virtual visit tool, part of the wider virtual care system. “My specialty is perfect for virtual care,” Manchanda said. “It’s not like being a surgeon where you have to feel if there is a lump or whatever. In sleep apnea, there’s a lot of data review, so once we make contact with a patient and get to know them in a personal visit, we can review that data online with them.” All it takes is a smartphone, tablet or computer and a strong Wi-Fi connection. That and plenty of set-up work in the office on the front end. Manchanda’s staff has compiled a checklist for the visits, which includes checking in with the patient several days before the virtual visit to ensure they have downloaded the
