Biography
Akram Al-Makki, MD, FACP, FASN began his Nephrology practice with IU Health Arnett in 2004. He is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine—West Lafayette and has an affiliate faculty appointment at Purdue University. In 2015, he received the AC Arnett Award for delivering the highest level of healthcare. In addition, in 2017, he was awarded the IU Health Values Leadership Award.
Dr. Al-Makki is married and has two children. He also speaks Arabic and English. Dr. Al-Makki believes the most important aspects of providing quality care is listening to patients, communication, patient education and involving patients in the treatment plan.
