Dr. Anthony D. Yang, MD, MS, FACS has been in practice as a surgical oncologist for 11 years. He has expertise in most abdominal cancer and endocrine surgical operations, but has chosen to focus mainly on pancreatic, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and neuroendocrine diseases. Dr. Yand has trained and practiced at some of the best hospitals in the country, including the MD Anderson Cancer Center and Northwestern University.

Dr. Yang chose to specialize in surgical oncology and endocrine surgery because he believes these fields prioritize the patient. He strongly believes that doctors of different specialties should work together to recommend the best option for each individual patient. His primary responsibility as a surgeon is to help each individual patient understand the benefits, risks, impact on their life of each operation and to help them decide whether surgery is their best option for treatment. If you decide to undergo surgery, then Dr. Yang will do his utmost to ensure you have the best outcome and recovery.

In addition to his clinical practice, he has a master’s degree in healthcare quality and patient safety. I lead a successful research program that studies how to help doctors, nurses and other healthcare personnel improve the quality and safety of the care they provide at their own hospitals and clinics. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, daughter and two sons. I most enjoy watching my kids play ice hockey and field hockey.
