Biography
Benjamin “Ben” Anderson, PA-C first discovered his love of orthopedic medicine as a personal trainer and fitness enthusiast in his collegiate life at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in the state of Virginia where he grew up.
As a life long sports fan and athlete he developed a passion for helping others to get in shape and even focused time attaining advance credentials in corrective/restorative exercise technique for individuals who have suffered from injuries or long periods of inactivity and disability. This propelled him in to the medical world where he first worked as a medical assistant and became inspired by a higher calling to become a Physician Assistant.
From a background of working with clients who wanted to improve their energy and mobility, he found orthopedics to be a natural fit. In the words of his first employer, Gregory Drake, DO, spine surgery “found him” and he has enjoyed working with and treating patients with various orthopedic spinal ailments since.
One of the highest levels of satisfaction he finds is in the problem solving challenge many patients with spinal disorders present and the ability to show patients the variety of options they have to treat their issues, both surgical and non. In today’s stressful world environment, he believes in integrating stress reduction techniques daily and endorses the practice of meditation and mind/body awareness.
In his spare time, he loves world travel and experiencing new culture and experiences. He stays physically active going to the gym and participating in outdoor activities whenever possible so that he can endorse the mantra “practice what you preach!”
