Biography

Carol C. Lancaster, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, became a nurse practitioner in 2018, almost 30 years to the day after earning her BSN. During the interim years working as a registered nurse, Lancaster cared for patients across their lifespan, with much of her work within the public school system, focusing on children and adolescents. Although she knew she wanted to specialize in psychiatric medicine, she first completed a family medicine nurse practitioner program to effectively treat patients holistically and understand the family system. Lancaster became interested in mental health while working in schools, witnessing the impact these disorders have on children and families. She believes patients should be respected and feel safe to share their perspectives and be heard. Lancaster works alongside her patients to identify symptoms impacting daily function, educate them and offer evidence-based care allowing them opportunities to make informed decisions about their healthcare and health goals. In her free time, she enjoys being a grandma, walking her dog and working in the yard on a nice day.
