Biography
Dr. Daewoong Lee, MD, earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He trained at the University of Chicago for an internal medicine internship, at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital for an anesthesiology residency, and then at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for an interventional pain medicine fellowship.
He is the only board-certified pain physician in the region, and additionally earned double board-certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is double-board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. Dr. Lee emphasizes that pain is a subjective experience, and thus, when a patient reports pain, she or he does indeed have pain. Many painful conditions arise from arthritis, surgery, accident, cancer, diabetes and other health issues. He will tailor treatments for each patient.
In his fight against chronic pain, he employs state-of-the-art technologies based on the latest research evidence. Some of the procedures that he offers include the following:
- Spinal Cord Stimulation
- Peripheral Nerve Stimulation
- Basivertebral Ablation
- Interspinous Spacer Implant
- Kyphoplasty
- Ultrasound-guided Peripheral Nerve Blocks
- Fluoroscopy-guided Injections
- Sympathetic Blocks
- Platelet-Rich Plasma
- Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate
He loves to hike, ski, travel, read and enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
