Biography
Dr. Deepak Bhakta is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with special interests in enlightening patients about their heart rhythm disturbances, preventing sudden death due to cardiac arrhythmias and managing cardiac rhythm devices including pacemakers and defibrillators.
He is Professor of Clinical Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and since 2014, has served as the program director for the Cardiology Training Program . He has achieved fellow status in American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Bhakta has aslo been appointed to the Board of Directors of the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.
In his free time, he enjoys photography, military history and supporting wild birds by maintaining his numerous bird feeders.
