Biography

Frank J. Yuk, MD, is a neurosurgeon specializing in adult and pediatric spine surgery. He joined IU Health and the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Neurological Surgery faculty in 2025 after several years in private practice. Having undergone two spine surgeries himself, Dr. Yuk brings a unique perspective to patient care and is committed to providing compassionate, empathetic treatment for every patient.

Training and Credentials

Dr. Yuk earned his undergraduate degree from The Johns Hopkins University and his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

He completed his neurosurgery residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital and is dual fellowship trained in spine surgery. His first fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital focused on adult complex spine surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques. He then completed an orthopedic spine fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery, specializing in adult and pediatric scoliosis. During his fellowship training, he also spent additional time at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Academic Role

Dr. Yuk serves on the faculty of the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Neurological Surgery, where he contributes to patient care, education and the advancement of spine surgery.

Outside of Work

Outside of medicine, Dr. Yuk enjoys golfing, traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with his wife and two children.
