Biography
From the time Dr. Swan was ten years old, she knew she wanted to be a doctor. She worked full time selling shoes to save money for college while in high school. At the age of 16, after three years of high school, she received a full scholarship to the University of Chicago, and then to Washington University.
Dr. Swan graduated at age 19 from Washington University with a bachelors, followed by her medical doctorate at Ross University. She completed her internal medicine residency at Seton Hall University in New Jersey and received her Internal medicine board certification in 1988. Dr. Swan practiced as an internist for three years, then returned to do her renal fellowship at the University of Illinois receiving her board certification in nephrology in 1992.
