Biography

As a physiatrist, Dr. Penman helps patients function at their personal best in the face of impairments. Prior to a career in medicine, she studied Complementary and Alternative Medicine at Georgetown, where she received her master's degree. She has a special interest in integrating this knowledge into a holistic approach for treating patients with complex chronic pain conditions. Clinical interests include fibromyalgia, post-acute sequelae SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC), integrative approaches to treating pain and dysfunction, headache management and regenerative medicine. When not working, Dr. Penman enjoys travel, yoga, learning ASL and making pizza with her husband and sons.
