Biography
Jill Lombardo, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist with IU Health Neurorehabilitation & Robotics. Jill completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Dayton, and she obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at The Ohio State University.
Jill has over 16 years of experience as a physical therapist, working across multiple settings including acute care, DayRehab and outpatient rehabilitation. Jill specializes in the treatment of neurological and vestibular conditions, including (but not limited to):
- Stroke
- Traumatic brain injury
- Parkinson's disease
- Multiple sclerosis
- Neurosurgical patients
- Neuromuscular diseases (such as muscular dystrophy, progressive supranuclear palsy, multiple systems atrophy, etc.)
- Vestibular disorders (including vertigo)
Jill holds certifications for vestibular rehabilitation and concussion rehabilitation from the American Institute of Balance. She also is certified in LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s Disease as well as PWR! Moves for Parkinson’s Disease.
Jill works on a variety of treatments with her patients to facilitate their recovery and regain functional mobility, and some of those include:
- Gait (walking) retraining
- Balance and coordination retraining
- Functional mobility/functional transfer training
- Activities to address dizziness and imbalance
Jill’s favorite thing about working with the neuro population is that it allows her to create individualized and creative treatment plans to help people achieve their mobility goals.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 sons as well as gardening, being outdoors, traveling and cheering on the Buckeyes.
