Dr. Joseph Goodmanis a board-certified physician, specializing in family medicine.
What Dr. Goodman Treats
As a family doctor, Dr. Goodman is trained to navigate the complex health system and assist patients with any concern that crosses their mind.

Education and Research
Dr. Goodman went to college at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and later attended medical school at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. His family is originally from Kentucky, so going to school there allowed him to learn his roots while also learning about science, psychology and the human body.
While at the University of Kentucky, he spent time studying psychology and neuroscience while working as a research assistant in both departments. His focus was on developmental psychology and ischemic stroke research, respectively. After moving to Louisville, his focus shifted to rural and global health. Dr. Goodman also served as the class historian where he worked as an administrative photographer.
Dr. Goodman completed his residency in Indianapolis with the Indiana University School of Medicine and Indiana University Health System, where he focused on training in chronic pain management and women’s health. He moved to Martinsville, IN after graduation to serve as a primary care family medicine physician for the region.
Outside of Work
When not caring for patients, Dr. Goodmen is often at his home in Martinsville, IN. He spends his time tending to his garden or chickens, as well as spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys games, reading, music, art and the occasional campfire.
