Biography
Dr. Kyle Hornsby joined the staff at IU Health Bloomington in the summer 2017 after leaving Bloomington 8 years prior. He is a native of Anacoco, Louisiana, where he grew up until he subsequently attended Indiana University where he was a member of the Indiana University basketball team from 1998-2003. After graduating from Indiana University, he attended Indiana University School of Medicine followed by an internal medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center. He then completed his cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he trained under an internationally renowned leader in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, Fred Morady, MD.
Dr. Hornsby is a volunteer assistant professor with the Indiana University School of Medicine and actively serves on the rhythm disorders council for Indiana University Health System.
Dr. Hornsby's area of specialty involves bradycardias and tachycardias with treatments such as medications, devices (such as implantable loop recorders, transvenous pacemakers, leadless pacemakers, transvenous ICDs, subcutaneous ICD's and conduction system pacing), device extractions and ablations for atrial arrhythmias (such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, as well as ventricular arrhythmias including PVCs and VT). He uses ablation techniques that include radiofrequency ablation, cryoablation and pulse field ablation.
Dr. Hornsby and his wife, who has her PhD and played collegiate soccer at University of Connecticut and Indiana University, love spending time with their children around Bloomington with youth sports and other activities such as IU events.
