Biography
Lauren Beckett received her Master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Utah. Lauren began working at Riley at IU Health in August 2017. Lauren’s special interests are in evaluating and treating children with cleft palate/craniofacial disorders and velopharyngeal dysfunction. She's an active member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, and the American Speech and Hearing Association Special Interest Group 5: Craniofacial and Velopharyngeal Disorders. Additionally, she has participated in the Americleft Speech Project as a research assistant and authored a Master’s thesis examining the pre- and post-surgery speech characteristics of preschool children with cleft palate. Outside of Riley, Lauren enjoys being outdoors including hiking, biking, skiing, and boating, and enjoys reading and crafting during the winter months.
