Biography
Dr. Marco Lacerda is the medical director of the IU Health adult liver and intestine/multivisceral transplant programs. Under Dr. Lacerda’s leadership, the liver transplant program was ranked No. 3 in the country for liver transplant volume in 2018.
Dr. Lacerda did his medical training at the Federal University of Paraná in Brazil. He completed his hepatology and liver transplantation training initially at the University of Minnesota and later at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He joined the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he is an associate professor of clinical medicine, in 2007 and became a medical director in 2009.
His clinical interests include acute and chronic liver disease, liver and intestinal transplantation and living donor liver transplantation.
