Biography
Dr. Massood Mohammadi, MD has always enjoyed working as an ophthalmologist and being part of the glaucoma community. He chose to specialize in ophthalmology, specifically focusing on glaucoma, because it involves building long-term relationships with his patients. Establishing a strong and trusting connection with them is essential for helping them overcome their concerns and accept the recommended treatments.
Managing glaucoma patients requires complex decision-making that takes into account this lifelong commitment to care. In his view, glaucoma specialists must adopt a holistic and comprehensive perspective when caring for their patients. This level of complexity in daily decision-making sets glaucoma apart from other subspecialties in ophthalmology.
Throughout his education and training, he consistently ranked among the top students. Mohammadi graduated from medical school in the top 1% of his class, and during residency, he achieved the second-highest rank nationwide in the board exams. Recently, he was honored to receive the Excellence in Research Award from the Ophthalmology Department at UCLA.
In his career as a glaucoma specialist, the guiding principle has always been to provide exceptional care to his patients. With over a decade of experience in ophthalmology and glaucoma, during which he has treated patients with various complexities, his primary goal is to serve the community by delivering superior clinical care to patients.
