Mohamad Alghothani, MD

Dr. Mohamad Alghothani, MD, FACC, FSCAI, specializes in interventional cardiology and sports cardiology. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he double majored in Biology and Arabic. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, after which he completed training in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology at The Ohio State University, Wright State University-Kettering Health Network and the University of Toledo.

He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology. Dr. Alghothani is an Assistant Professor of Medicine with the IU school of medicine. He has an interest in medical education and previously served as Associate Program Director of the Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Toledo College of Medicine.

In addition to practicing as an interventional cardiologist and sports cardiologist, Dr. Alghothani serves as the Medical Director of Cardiology for Indiana University Athletics, where he will also serve as the team cardiologist.

He is a member of multiple professional societies, including the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Alghothani has also been published in several journals and publications, including the Journal of Cardiac Surgery and the Journal of Cardiac Failure.
