Dr. Motasem Al Maaieh is a highly skilled and qualified surgeon with extensive experience in spine surgery. His primary focus is minimally invasive spine surgery, and pine tumors. He joined IU Health coming from the University of Miami, Miami Florida, where he practiced for almost 10 years. He utilizes the most advanced technology in treating his patients, such as the use of intra-operative navigation as well as robotic spine surgery to enhance patient care and achieve the highest outcomes with the lowest risks and complications.

He completed two prestigious fellowships in spine surgery at the renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York (Best Hospital In Orthopaedic Surgery in the United States) and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Oncology surgery, further enhancing his expertise in this field, making him the ideal surgeon to take care of patients with spine tumors. Dr. Al Maaieh works closely with Oncology experts to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patients with spine cancer, ensuring the best possible care for his patients.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing soccer and chess with his 2 sons.
