Biography
Dr. Raheleh Rahimi Darabad specializes in anesthesiology for IU Health University Hospital Interventional & Advanced Pain Therapies.
Dr. Darabad serves as Program Director of the Chronic Pain Fellowship and Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesia at Indiana University School of Medicine. She is actively involved in physician education, research and mentoring. Her research focuses on advancing pain management therapies, particularly peripheral nerve stimulation and neuromodulation, and she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented nationally and internationally.
Dr. Darabad earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. She completed postdoctoral research training at Harvard Medical School, followed by an anesthesiology residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and a fellowship in pain medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. She is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Darabad is an active member of the International Association for the Study of Pain, International Neuromodulation Society, Spine Intervention Society, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. She has been recognized for her commitment to education with Indiana University's Trustees' Teaching Award and the Outstanding Faculty Member Award for the Transitional Year Residency Program.
