Biography
Dr. Samantha K. Hendren, MD, MPH has a special interest in colorectal cancer surgery, including multi-organ resection for locally-advanced colorectal tumors. Other conditions she treats include anal cancer, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, ostomy surgery and anal conditions such as fistulas and hemorrhoids. She performs traditional and minimally-invasive surgery. Prior to coming to Indianapolis, Dr. Hendren practiced colorectal surgery for 15 years at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. While there she developed a quality improvement program in Michigan for colorectal cancer surgeons.
Dr. Hendren received her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. She completed her General Surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania followed by a Colorectal fellowship at University of Toronto. She is board certified in general surgery and colorectal surgery.
