Biography
Sereena Abraham, PT, DPT, AIB-VRC, is a dedicated physical therapist with IU Health Neurorehabilitation and Robotics. Sereena completed her undergraduate degree in microbiology at Indiana University-Bloomington and received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.
With a passion for helping patients regain their independence and quality of life, Sereena brings extensive experience in treating complex cases across various settings, including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient care. Through her experiences, she has been able to hone her skills in the treatment of many neurological conditions, including (but not limited to):
- Stroke
- Traumatic brain injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Parkinson's Disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Neurosurgical patients
- Neuromuscular diseases (muscular dystrophy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, multiple system atrophy, etc.)
- Vestibular and balance conditions
- Concussion
In addition to a strong foundation in general neurological physical therapy, Sereena holds the following specialty certifications:
- American Institute for Balance Vestibular and Concussion Certified Therapist
- LSVT-BIG Certified Therapist, a Parkinson's disease-specific program
- ReWalk exoskeleton Certified Therapist
These additional trainings enable Sereena to provide cutting-edge treatment for patients experiencing dizziness, balance issues and other mobility deficits. Sereena is committed to creating personalized rehabilitation plans that focus on long-term recovery and empowering individuals to achieve their maximum functional potential.
