Biography

Dr. Thomas M. Shelton, MD, is a fellowship-trained urologist specializing in the surgical management of complex kidney stones and benign prostatic hyperplasia, along with general urology. He completed his residency in urological surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine and his Endourology Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is part of the teaching faculty for the department's Endourology Fellowship. As an Indianapolis native, he is committed to advancing urologic care for Hoosiers.

His research interests include emerging surgical technologies, enhancing surgical outcomes for medically complex patients and resident education in endourology.

Shelton serves as the BPH section editor for Current Urology Reports and is a member of both the American Urological Association and the Endourological Society. He was honored with the Urology Department Teaching Award during his first year in practice.
