Biography
Dr. Tomas E. Meijome, MD, has been practicing ophthalmology since 2022, with experience in both academic and global settings. After residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Michigan, he completed a dedicated fellowship in global ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital. Through his fellowship, he provided care and medical training in Philadelphia and abroad in countries such as Jamaica, Ecuador, Peru, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and India. He previously practiced in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Meijome chose ophthalmology because of its power to restore vision and dramatically improve the quality of life for his patients. His practice philosophy centers on delivering compassionate, equitable care while helping patients understand their eye health and treatment options.
As an Assistant Professor, Dr. Meijome is actively involved in resident education, community outreach and expanding the department’s global outreach. Outside of work, he enjoys tennis, travel and spending time with his wife and their young twins.
Dr. Meijome considers it a privilege to care for patients and is committed to delivering thoughtful, high-quality eye care to every individual he meets.
