Emergency team focuses on patients

There is a slight chill in the IU Health Bloomington Emergency Department air as patients look around a unit of white walls peppered with colored scrubs. The space, designed for efficiency and high-acuity health issues, depends on team members to provide the comfort, care, and heart patients need during their stressful experiences.

"I'm thankful I had Mollie Powell, MD, taking care of me," says one patient while another takes the time to single out Lance Lawyer, PA-C, as "very calming and seemed to be a genuine, caring individual."

Recognition of team efforts sometimes happens at the bedside by patients and visitors, but teams also need to celebrate each other. One monthly leadership-led provider recognition focuses on patient satisfaction.

November's providers in the spotlight are Powell and Lawyer, and the quotes above highlight just a few of the reviews left by their patients.

And comments like, "Taylor Hero, MD was very personable and patiently explained everything to me," and "Nate Wavle, MD was amazing. Very happy with how I was treated," showcase why the team is celebrating them for their December efforts.
