From prison to sobriety to peer recovery coach

While serving a 4-year prison sentence for drug-related offenses, Abbey Collins was determined to get her life back. "I realized wow, this is not me, this is not the life I want for myself. I made a decision then and there to dig deep and do some work on myself that obviously I needed to do and I dove head first into recovery." Abbey is now a peer recovery coach at IU Health West Hospital, working to help others through the challenges of substance abuse.
