IU Health is proud to help expand AED access across Indiana

Today, IU Health joined Bolt for the Heart to donate 100 new automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to fire and law enforcement agencies statewide. This announcement also included big news that this year’s 500 Festival Mini Marathon will become a Bolt for the Heart rescue‑ready race, with AEDs placed throughout the course for immediate use if needed.

“I want to thank Bolt for the Heart for our continued partnership to expand life‑saving AEDs across our communities,” said Michele Saysana, MD, IU Health Metro Region President. “Our mission is to make Indiana the healthiest state in the country. We can’t just do that inside the walls of the hospital. By putting our resources in communities, we can help these communities be safer.”
