IU Health leaders recognized among IBJ’s 2026 Women of Influence

Two Indiana University Health leaders have been named among the Indianapolis Business Journal’s 2026 Women of Influence honorees, a prestigious recognition celebrating Central Indiana’s most influential female leaders.

Adrienne Sims, PsyD, IU Health senior vice president and chief human resources officer, and Melissa McCarthy, MD, an emergency and motorsports medicine physician with IU Health and IndyCar, were selected as part of this year’s class of 26 honorees representing leaders from across the public and private sectors.

The annual Women of Influence program recognizes women who are making a significant impact in their professions and communities through leadership, innovation and service. Honorees are selected by a panel of IBJ Media executives, editors and former Women of Influence recipients.

As chief human resources officer, Sims guides IU Health’s workforce strategy and leads the organization’s commitment to attracting, developing and retaining exceptional team members across the state. McCarthy is recognized for her leadership in emergency medicine and her unique role advancing patient care and safety in both healthcare and motorsports.

The honorees will be recognized at the 2026 IBJ Women of Influence breakfast on Oct. 22.
