IU Health stroke team trains local EMT crews

This week IU Health stroke experts met with Indianapolis International Airport EMT crews to provide stroke education and show first responders around the hospital system’s mobile stroke ambulance. “What we are trying to do, broadly speaking, is treat people [throughout central Indiana] as quickly as possible,” said Dr. Jason Mackey, an IU Health neurologist. “Mobile stroke units have A CT scanner on the ambulance such that we’re bringing a primary stroke center to the patient.”
