Near death 18 months ago, trauma patient throws first pitch at Indians game

Chance Charters is a big Cubs fan, but he set his allegiances aside to throw the first pitch at a recent Indianapolis Indians game. In February of 2024 Chance was critically injured in a vehicle crash that took his mother's life. Chance's dad, John Charters says he and his kids are still settling in to their new normal. "I don't have much time to sit and wonder and ponder, but there are still hard days. We just try to take life one day at a time."
