Neuropsychological testing- Who it's for and how it can help
Patients who have suffered a brain injury can often benefit from outpatient neuropsychological testing. This testing is designed to hone in on and treat cognitive deficits that may otherwise go undiagnosed.
"Brain injury can affect a person’s mood, but it can also affect their behaviors," said Samantha Backhaus, PhD, a clinical neuropsychologist at Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana. "Neuropsychological testing looks at all of a patient’s cognitive functions. The goal is to assess and treat the areas that can be impacted by brain injury."
