Parkinson's choir growing in participation and impact
IU Health music therapist, Sabrina Riffler started a choir for patients with Parkinson's disease in late 2025. Several months later, the choir has an official name- Parkinson's Voices of Hope. It's also growing in participation as more patients look to combine human connection with disease-focused therapy. "The goal behind the choir is to provide an opportunity of community and wellness and connection," said Riffler. "Another very important benefit of singing is diaphragm support, breath support and voice strength, which Parkinson's can impact."
