Patient finds concussion relief through vestibular physical therapy

Paula Meyer wasn’t sure what to expect when she was first referred to the vestibular physical therapy team at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana.

“I had no idea what it would be like,” Paula said. “Some of the things they have me do, I have to ask them… are you serious that normal people can do this?”

The vestibular system, in a person's inner ear, impacts balance, stability and movement. Paula's treatment plan includes manual therapy and specific exercises that have helped her reduce dizziness and regain confidence.
