Patient on hyperbaric oxygen therapy- that kind of healing is really incredible

David Copenhaver's colorectal cancer journey has involved chemotherapy, radiation and multiple surgeries. The radiation left him with open wounds on his lower back that wouldn't heal. That's when doctors referred David to IU Health's comprehensive wound care team who suggested he try hyperbaric oxygen therapy. "I did that for two hours a day, five days a week for four weeks," said David, who's wounds are now all but closed. It's really the body figuring out a way to heal itself if it is given what it needs which is oxygen."
