Professional running analysis aims to improve form, reduce injuries

IU Health's physical therapy team is developing a running rehabilitation program where anyone from beginning runners to seasoned athletes can get their running form analyzed through video feedback and professional monitoring. "People can come in who want to get an assessment done of their form. We're going to check strength, range of motion and do a full-body movement assessment," said Tim Czarnecki, a physical therapist who is overseeing the program. "Eventually we will have some software that will allow us to... take various angle measurements and things. We can then give patients some drills to do and have them come back and, with the help of the software, be able to measure their progress objectively."
