IU Health Joe and Shelly Schwarz Cancer Center at IU Health North Hospital

We are building on our promise and creating a new model of care for our community.

The Indiana University Health Joe and Shelly Schwarz Cancer Center will be an 88,000 square foot, two-story facility on the south side of the IU Health North campus. Shelly Schwarz, along with her late husband, Joe Schwarz, committed $10-million to the cancer center, the largest single gift to IU Health from a living donor to date. Joe Schwarz passed away in March 2018 after his second battle with cancer.

The $55-million investment builds on the promise to bring together, all under one roof, cancer services, including:

  • Radiation oncology spaces and infusion rooms
  • Integrated Health and Wellness Center offering programs such as art, music and yoga
  • Additional support services including a pharmacy and laboratory
