Family and Guest Visiting

Our healthcare team understands that having family (defined as blood relatives, spouse/partner of different-sex or same-sex couples, biological or adoptive parents, adult caregivers of patient or children, and/or significant others) and friends around is important to the healing process. Your family is welcome anytime, but we do ask guests to follow the guidelines below.
For more information or to check on the status of your loved one, call 765.747.3111.

When can guests visit?

Hours are different for each unit, so you are welcome to call 765.747.3111 for specific visiting hours on a unit. Please note that these may change based on a patient’s condition or scheduled tests. There may be special guidelines for coming or staying after 9 pm.

Can children come?

In general, it is a good idea to check with a guest relations team member before bringing a child as a visitor. Children younger than 14 years must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient at all times. Some units may require health screens or have other limitations on children visiting.

If someone is sick, can they visit?

For your protection, people should not visit if they are sick, especially if they have a sore throat, cold or fever.

Is smoking allowed?

All IU Health facilities are smoke-free. For the safety of everyone, smoking is not allowed in any IU Health building or on the grounds.

What is IU Health’s alcohol and drug policy?

All IU Health facilities are alcohol and drug-free.

What is the IU Health firearm policy?

It is the policy of Indiana University Health that no one, other than IU Health Security Officers or on-duty Law Enforcement Officers, carry or have in their possession a firearm or weapon while in a IU Health facility. Law enforcement officers should check in with IU Health Security if they plan to carry on premises.

Pavilion Community Pharmacy

The Indiana University Health Pavilion Retail Pharmacy is located in the lobby of the Outpatient Medical Pavilion at Ball Memorial Hospital.

What is an Indiana University Health Retail Pharmacy?

It is a pharmacy unlike anything you have experienced before. To us, pharmaceutical care means more than counting pills. It means helping patients make the best use of their medications — screening for interactions, in-depth counseling, continued monitoring, and educating on medical devices. Through our community pharmacy network — 10 ambulatory care pharmacies located primarily in physician offices — we develop relationships. A vital link in the medication use process is that our pharmacists forge partnerships with both providers and patients to ensure optimal medication outcomes.

Please Note: If you need a refill and have a Kenmore pharmacy prescription number please call Pavilion pharmacy at 765.757.8461 and request a refill. Kenmore prescription numbers will not work on this refill link.  Thank you.
