When you are faced with a medical emergency, IU Health provides experienced and effective treatment, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
IU Health Fishers has a full-service emergency department. Our team includes physicians experienced in emergency medicine and highly trained emergency medicine nurses, paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs).
We also offer social work and chaplaincy services to help patients and families cope with emergencies.
IU Health Fishers provides treatment for patients who arrive with a variety of common illnesses to complex medical conditions. This ranges from a possible heart attack or stroke, difficulty breathing, abdominal pain, sudden illness, cuts, bleeding, broken bones and more. We offer the latest technology and an advanced team of caregivers.
Through our partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine, we are improving outcomes for our most critically ill and injured patients through research and clinical trials.
Our convenient facilities include:
- Eight specialty rooms, four chest-pain rooms and one trauma room
- A full-service laboratory, radiology and imaging, and respiratory care support
- A full-service catheterization (cath) lab, including three dual-purpose cath labs. Catheterization involves insertion of a catheter, or thin tube, into the body to perform a surgical procedure or treat a disease.
Infants and children up to 18 years old can now be treated in the Riley Children’s Health emergency unit at IU Health Fishers. This pediatric emergency unit is built adjacent to the existing emergency department and has a dedicated children’s entrance next to the adult emergency entrance.
IU Health LifeLine
Assuring your safe transportation to and from IU Health Fishers or other IU Health hospitals is important to us. That is why we have a helipad for IU Health LifeLine. LifeLine provides transport by ground (ambulance) and air (helicopter).
Additional transport is offered though the town of Fishers Emergency Medical Services and Seals Ambulance Service. Both organizations use an ambulance bay and staff sleeping quarters at our hospital. This allows faster emergency response service and better access to emergency care.
